Every stunning dress from the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2019 collection at NYFW

Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia's fall 2019 Oscar De la Renta collection was inspired by travel. Although the idea was first sparked during a trip to Dubai, the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in Spain laid the groundwork for the designs.

According to Vogue, the duo appreciated its history and combining of religions. It was also a place that the Oscar de la Renta himself often visited.

The runway opened up with suiting and moved into evening dresses through tweed jackets, silk separates, wrapped cocktail dresses and printed coats. Ensembles were influenced by foreign textiles as well as Islam and Christianity. However, religion was more apparent in some pieces than others, specifically through the prints. Bella Hadid closed the show in a black ball gown that gave a nod to Islamic decorations.

Other standout pieces included a short black velvet dress with floor-length gold fringe, a marigold floral-cut strapless column dress and a soft purple feathered high-low dress.
