Little Prince George turned seven years old today, and to commemorate the special occasion the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared some adorable pictures of the young Royal, as is their new tradition. Happy birthday, George!

While the pictures are, of course, very cute, people couldn't help but notice a particular resemblance between George and another member of the Royal family.

With the new portraits showing George's cheeky, gap-toothed smile, followers of the Cambridges were quick to compare George to the grin of a young Prince William. Sweet!

Meanwhile, a second picture shared by William and Kate also shows George wearing a camouflage t-shirt, and people swiftly spotted how the picture mirrors that of a young Prince William, also wearing a camouflage army print. Like father, like son, eh?

One person on Twitter called George "a mini Prince William", while another added, "Prince George looks EXACTLY like William as a child."

Meanwhile, others reckon George has a look of his grandmother Princess Diana as well as his father, writing, "The little prince looks like Prince William and Princess Diana!!" However, some have also compared George to Kate Middleton's brother, James.

The two new portraits were shared on the Kensington Royal Instagram account in celebration of Prince George's birthday, with the first portrait taken by the Duchess of Cambridge herself.

The Cambridges thanked followers for their birthday wishes for George in a second sweet post, writing, "Thank you everyone for your very kind wishes on Prince George’s birthday today! 🎂 🎈".

Happy birthday, George!
