Fans Can't Stop Talking About Blake Shelton's Childhood Photos from His 'Kelly Clarkson Show' Interview
Blake Sheltonโs infamous mullet throwback isnโt the only embarrassing photo from his past.
During an appearance on fellow Voice coach Kelly Clarkson's talk show on Friday, the country star shared some adorably blush-worthy photos from his time as a pageant kid โ and fans couldnโt believe their eyes.
In the first throwback photo, the โHell Rightโ singer sported a maroon tuxedo, a dramatic side part, and a dreamy dimpled smile that surely must have won over little girls and pageant judges alike.
Shelton also shared his memories of starring in child pageants on The Kelly Clarkson Show, recalling, โMy mom would enter me into pageants. Like, literally pageants, because, so I could sing in the talent portion.โ
โBut then you would also have to do the evening wear and, you know ...โ he added, a smile playing on his lips.
Clarkson, who will face off against Shelton on the new season of The Voice, which premiered Monday, fondly teased the singer about his pageant past, and admitted that sheโd set him up to talk about the experience by asking if he remembered his first-ever performance.
โYes, yes, yes, I did those things,โ Shelton said. โI do remember my two specialties were, I did โOld Time Rock & Rollโ by Bob Seger, and I would do โCat Scratch Feverโ by Ted Nugent, which didnโt go over very well with the soccer moms in the audience because, I donโt know if you ever heard that song or what itโs about, but you can imagine, I think.โ
โDid your evening wear end up helping you win, though?โ Clarkson joked before presenting another photo of a young Shelton wearing a black leather jacket and holding a microphone.
The Kelly Clarkson Show later shared the clip and photos on Instagram, joking, "We'd like to order two 8x10 prints and wallet-size please ๐ธ."โ

"Hopefully @BlakeShelton was better at winning the evening wear competition that he is at winning #TheVoice," the caption added.
Meanwhile, in the comments section, fans gushed over Shelton's childhood photos.

Apparently Shelton's style extended to the dance floor because he also confessed to Clarkson that he studied breakdancing as a child and joked that heโd only needed one lesson to master the art.
โI just needed somebody to show me the way, Kelly, and I take it from there,โ he quipped.
โWas that your talent, as well, at the pageant? Breakdancing?โ Clarkson asked as she burst into another round of laughter. โI just want to keep bringing it up. I love you.โ
