Fans Support Guy Fieri After Emotional Post: 'It's Hard To Be Here Without Him'
Guy Fieri is grappling with the loss of his father all over again. On Wednesday, his birthday, the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives star opened up about the grief, just five days before the anniversary of his dad's passing.
"First birthday I’ve celebrated without my dad 'Jamps,'" he shared on his Instagram Stories. "I wanna call him all the time and ask questions, help me solve issues or celebrate the wins. Wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him and it's hard to be here without him."
"One tour one round one chance make it count!" he concluded the post, which featured a family photo of Guy alongside his mom, two sons, and his nephew, Jules.
Fieri has remained open about the grieving process with each passing milestone in the last year without his dad, who died at the age of 81. In June, he honored his "hero" for Father's Day in a vulnerable Instagram post.
"Hope everyone's having a great Father's Day. I'm with Hunter and Ryder and the family right now and bunch of our friends all getting together," Guy said in a video on the social media platform. "Kind of a tough day for me—first Father's Day without my dad Jim, but even when you're having a tough day some little miracles happen in the world."
In the wake of his father's absence, Fieri is leaning on another special person in his life: his "one of a kind" mom.
"This is the one to blame or celebrate lol," he joked in a feed post on his birthday, alongside several photos with his mother. "My wonderful effervescent superstar red headed wonder MY mom Penny. She has been through it all and still wakes up and celebrates life everyday with a smile and a laugh."
"HAPPY BIRTHING DAY," he captioned the post to her.
Fieri's post was met with a flurry of well wishes. His son, Ryder, honored the chef with a 'gram of his own, featuring a photo of Guy alongside Steph Curry. "Happy birthday dad❤️❤️Love you❤️." His older son, Hunter, also chimed in, writing, "Happy Birthday Pops! Thank you for being an amazing father, leader, and best friend! Looking forward to another great year together. Love you dad ❤️Cheers! Let’s have some @huntrydewine 🍷🙌"
Fans also rallied around the Food Network star in support. "Blessings for many more 🙏🏼💜💯🫶🏼🎉🎊🎂," one wrote online.
