My Favorite Luxe Laundry Detergent Just Dropped a New Limited-Edition Scent

If there’s one thing I’m known for, it’s my love of fragrance. From perfumes and linen sprays to diffusers and candles (I’m kind of the unofficial “candle girl” on the team), scent is something that has always been close to my heart. That’s why last year when fragrance house Dedcool launched its collaboration with celebrity stylist Jen Atkin’s hair line, OUAI (known for its own deliciously scented products), I knew I had to add it to my laundry rotation.

To no one’s surprise, I loved it, as did, well, everyone. What was initially a limited-edition collaboration, the beloved Melrose Place Dedtergent (you have to love the funny play on words) became a permanent fixture earlier this month, and to celebrate, the brand released yet another soon-to-be-sought-after limited edition scent: the North Bondi Dedtergent. I was lucky enough to get a chance to put it to the test, and reader, this one might be better than the original.

What is the Dedcool x OUAI North Bondi Dedtergent?

As the next iteration of the successful collaboration between Dedcool and OUAI,  the North Bondi Dedtergent is another can’t-miss launch. Inspired by Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, this “dedtergent” features notes of bergamot, Italian lemon, rose de mai, jasmine, violet, sandalwood, and white musk. And just like its predecessor, this cleanser boasts an innovative, eco-friendly formulation through plant-based, biodegradable ingredients like vegetable oil and sugar for an effective clean without any harmful chemicals, making it safe for sensitive skin, too.

Why I Love the Dedcool x OUAI North Bondi Dedtergent

As I mentioned above, there’s nothing I like more than a good smell — except when someone tells me I smell good. Ever since I started incorporating this detergent into my routine, I’ve repeatedly been asked what perfume I’m wearing, only to realize it is, in fact, this detergent they’re noting. I also feel it’s important to note that the scent of this detergent (and its sister Melrose Place) is anything but overpowering and cloying, but instead subtle yet still striking.

That being said, if I just wanted to smell good, I would simply buy the perfume version. Aside from its incredible scent (something I’d describe as the smell of summer salt skin and a warm floral breeze with just a touch of citrus), this is a powerhouse detergent. As it is super concentrated, a little goes a long way, with a small pour being enough to thoroughly wash even my largest loads. Reader, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed pulling my clothes out of the dryer quite as much as I do now, and I doubt I ever will again (that is, maybe until they launch their next collab).
