OMG! The first trailer for the Queenie TV series is here
Cast your mind back to 2019, because there's a good chance you were obsessed with reading Candice Carty-Williams iconic debut novel, Queenie. And now the beloved novel is getting a TV adaptation on Channel 4, and we could not be more ready.
Queenie tells the story of a 25 year-old Jamaican British woman who is straddling two cultures and trying to come to terms with who she is and what she wants out of life. The TV adaptation of the novel has been in the works for sometime, and now we finally have the trailer to get a feel for the series, which is confirmed to be coming out in June this year.
So if you're excited for this brand new series then this is everything you need to know about Channel 4's Queenie.
Is there a trailer for Queenie?
There sure is, and honestly, it looks great. The new trailer was released on 1st May on Hulu and Channel 4's YouTube channels and we get to see scenes of Queenie attending a gynaecologist appointment (where Laura Whitmore is her doctor), Queenie and Tom arguing by a bus stop, and Queenie wearing a bunny costume and terrifying her grandparents in the process. We can't wait.

What is the release date for Queenie?
As well as sharing the trailer for the new series, Channel 4 also confirmed the series will be hitting our screens at *some point* in June this year. Not long to go now!
What is Queenie about?
Ok, so if you haven't read the novel yet, (what are you doing btw?) here's a brief synopsis.
Queenie is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman, working as a journalist, straddling two cultures and not really fitting into either.
Her breakup from long-term boyfriend Tom causes her to seek comfort in all the wrong places and she soon begins to realise she has to come to terms with her past before she can start rebuilding her exciting future, and discover who she really is.
Who is in the cast of Queenie?
Taking on the titular role of Queenie is Dionne Brown, who has previously starred in the Apple TV+ series Criminal Record and in the series The Walk-In.
Her ex-boyfriend Tom is played by Jon Pointing and her best friend Kyazike is being played by Bellah.
Also joining the cast is Samuel Adewunmi as Frank, Sally Phillips as Gina, Queenie's editor, Tilly Keeper as Darcy, Elisha Applebaum as Cassandra, Mim Shaikh as Adi, Llewella Gideon as Grandma Veronica, Michelle Greenidge as Aunty Maggie, Cristale De’Abreu as Diana, and Joseph Marcell as Grandad Wilfred.
A number of other cast members including Laura Whitmore, Melissa Johns and Joseph Ollman are said to be part of the series in yet undisclosed roles.

Good news, we're set to enjoy eight episodes of Queenie at some point in 2024.
Where can I watch Queenie?
Queenie is set to be released at some point in June on Channel 4 for UK viewers. For viewers outside the UK, the series will be released on Hulu and Disney+.
