Is the second wave of COVID-19 over? Or has the third wave started already? We’re also unsure, but all we know is that we’re going to try to stay indoors as much as possible to protect ourselves and others. Like most indecisive folks, if you also spend two-three hours just to pick one show or movie, here are some suggestions to keep you hooked in the coming month. The best part is, they’ve all got brilliant women in the leads.

Starring Rosa Salazar, this Netflix limited series follows a filmmaker as she falls down a hallucinatory rabbit hole after heading to Hollywood. Set in the ’90s, this horror drama based on a cult classic novel by Todd Grimson is set to drop on August 13.

2. The Suicide Squad

Margot Robbie stands out as Harley Quinn as part of the ensemble cast of this DC Comics release. Directed by James Gunn, this reboot of the 2016 Suicide Squad has already been touted as a “dazzling improvement” by critics and gained a solid standing on Rotten Tomatoes. Watch the fast-paced supervillain story, which releases on August 5 in select Indian cities and on Disney+ Hotstar.

Set in Chennai with Nayanthara in the lead, the movie follows the story of a blind woman who becomes the witness to a crime. With a serial killer on the loose, the woman eventually has to make the choice to hunt him down herself. This nail-biting Tamil thriller, directed by Milind Rau, is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on August 13.

4. Miles Of Love

This Telugu release centers around how a career-oriented girl, played by Ramya Pasupuleti, falls in love with a carefree guy she meets on a nine-hour journey from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. Releasing on August 28, this quirky pick is a must-watch for all rom-com fans.
