This unique $29 floating globe puts the world at your fingertips — 'never seen anything like it '
If you're anything like me, your home office could use a little bit more pizzazz. You know maybe a few decorations on your desk besides a stack of books and that pile of mail you haven't gotten around to opening. Well, we've found a fascinating adornment that will not only start conversations but keep you entertained throughout the day: a floating globe.
The centerpiece orb features a pretty detailed world map, but not one you'll want to use for actually identifying where countries are. After all, it doesn't really rotate up and down, but it does spin. All you have to do is flick it lightly near the bottom with your finger and watch it spin.
How, you ask? Easy: A pair of powerful magnets hold the globe suspended in the center of the mount, allowing it to quite literally float. There are LED lights inside the curve that add another level of flair to the whole shebang.
It's not fragile, but if something does happen to it, no worries: It comes with a one-year warranty.
"So cool!" said one fan. "I am so in love with this globe I ordered to give as a gift, I am ordering another one for myself! Setup took less than two minutes with the tool they provide, and that includes plugging it in! It's just gently turning while suspended in the magnetic cradle. The lights are a nice addition to the whole effect...highly recommend!!"
Said this five-star reviewer: "This was a gift for my father-in-law, who loves to collect globes. He absolutely loves this one. He's never seen anything like it and he thought it was the coolest thing. So glad we made this purchase. It takes a little getting used to at first to get the globe floating properly, but it will work and it will stay put if you're not bumping into it or messing with it much. If you have little kids who can't keep their hands off of it, you'll either find the globe getting knocked into the magnet above it, or you'll need to move it up higher. Either way, this is a cool gift idea. I definitely recommend it."
