Foil Pack Cinnamon Apples = Our Favorite Apple Pie Shortcut

Need an apple pie shortcut, or a camping treat that will put basic s'mores to shame? Enter: Foil pack cinnamon apples. Foil packs are one of our favorite campfire hacks, and while we usually turn to them for mains (we're looking at you, burger foil packs), they also work perfectly for dessert. In this apple pie-inspired recipe, you'll add sliced apples to a foil pack, and top with cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and cubes of butter. In around 30 minutes, you'll have tender spiced apples that will rival your favorite apple pie recipe.

My top tip? Only lightly coat the apples with your seasoning mixture. Add too much, and you risk your apples being overly seasoned. A little goes a long way here—cooking the apples will already bring out their sweet flavor.
