Forever 21 and Ford Collaborate on Capsule Collection That Puts a Contemporary Spin on Classic Americana
Forever 21 and Ford Motor Company have collaborated on a new fashion collection. The limited-edition apparel features nostalgic iconography of classic cars.
The 28-piece capsule features vintage imagery of Ford Motor icons, such as Mustang, which debuted in 1964, followed two years later by the Bronco. Styles from the collection will also feature mechanic coveralls, jackets and shirts, and embellished artwork, along with classic denim washes, embroidered logos and patches, and retro silhouettes that nod to the height of the company’s popularity in the ’60s.

Pieces from the collection include sweatshirts, crop tops, jackets and boiler suits, among other pieces. Options for men and women are available in the collection, which is now available online and in stores. Prices range from $17.99 to $79.99.
Forever 21 has collaborated with other brands and companies in the recent past. In 2023, Forever 21 introduced two collaborations with Hello Kitty, one during the holiday season and another in time for Halloween. In May 2022, the retailer launched a Barbie-inspired collection.
The new collaboration comes roughly five months after Authentic Brands Group signed a long-term agreement with online retailer Shein for Forever 21. Through the partnership, Shein will design, manufacture and distribute pieces of apparel, including sportswear, swimwear and other categories, featuring the co-branded Forever 21 x Shein label.
As for Ford, the automobile company is making a foray into fashion. In November 2023, the company re-teamed with actress Sydney Sweeney for a collection of workwear inspired by her 1965 Mustang. Pieces from the collection included a khaki zip-up jacket, two-tone cap and lanyard keychain in shades of blue, inspired by the shade of Sweeney’s vintage car, which comes in the 1960s “Britney Blue.”
The automobile industry has influenced fashion for decades. In 2021, the “Women Take the Wheel: Fashion, Modernity and the Automobile 1905-1945” exhibition in Newport, R.I., chronicled the history of the car’s influence on fashion, particularly how women driving and being driven impacted the clothes they wore.
A number of fashion brands collaborated with car companies before. In 2020, Armani collaborated with Fiat on car design, while Hermès joined forces with Bugatti in 2019.
