This Fort Worth sushi spot ranked among Yelp’s best in the country: ‘A must try’

A hand roll restaurant tucked in Fort Worth’s West 7th Entertainment District made Yelp’s 2024 list of top 10 best sushi spots in the U.S.

Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar has been open since 2018. Since then, they have raked in 700 five-star reviews, placing them at No. 9 in the nation, according to Yelp.

“One of the most remarkable aspects of Hatsuyuki is the speed and precision of service. Within minutes of ordering, you start receiving your hand rolls, each crafted with care and precision,” said Dominique R., a diner that left Hatsyuki a five-star review. “The chef’s specials, which frequently feature rare and exotic fish, are a must-try and add an exciting element to the menu.”

Yelp compiled its list of top sushi restaurants based on its own data, such as the total volume and ratings of reviews. This list guarantees customers that they will enjoy sushi styles for all tastes, delicacies, and chef’s choice experiences. Hatsuyuki is specifically known for its unique style of handrolls.

About 100 restaurants made the list, with No. 1 being Kauai Sushi Station in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii. Texas pops up 10 times on the list with sushi restaurants in Dallas, Plano, and Houston. The other Texas sushi spots include:

What to know about Hatsuyuki

The West 7th Entertainment District is “one of the hottest entertainment scenes in the city,” according to Visit Fort Worth. There is no shortage of activities from Little Woodrow’s with a 400-inch screen, to SandBox VR in Artisan Circle. Located in the heart of Fort Worth, just minutes from downtown.

The popularity of the sushi spot may mean you have to wait to dine. They do not accept reservations, so seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yelp reviewer Michael B. suggests, “arrive at least an hour before you want to be seated, get your name on the list, *use their QR code for free parking*, then slip over to one of the bars down the street and wait for them to text you that your table is ready.”

Hatsuyuki’s small space makes for an intimate setting with a U-shaped sushi bar that wraps around the chef’s kitchen.

Meals average $50-$100 per person. On Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday, they are open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, they are open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. They are closed on Mondays.
