Fox News Contributor Tomi Lahren’s Brunch Plans Were Sabotaged

Fox News pundit Tomi Lahren is getting praised by Donald Trump after someone threw water at her during brunch on Sunday. Here's what you need to know.

Nearly a year and a half into office, President Donald Trump is choosing to focus on what’s important: cat fights.

On Sunday, Fox News regular Tomi Lahren—best known for her bleach blonde locks, brazen, sassy tone, and conservative points of view—fell victim to Real Housewives-style behavior when a woman threw a glass of water on her over brunch. Lahren was with her parents at a restaurant in Minneapolis when the woman in a denim button-down skirt suddenly spritzed the news pundit with a fresh splash of H2O, wetting her mom along the way as, according to Lahren, crowds spewed “profanity.”

It was all caught on Twitter, and Lahren, visibly pissed, is seen leaving the place with her mom treading behind. TMZ reports that Lahren clapped back, which ultimately got her kicked out.

Say what you will about her politics, but we have to agree that it’s simply not kosher for adults to act out like children because they disagree on contentious topics. Maybe the group that rallied against her had one too many mimosas?

Following the incident, Lahren appeared on Fox & Friends to react to the water drama and set the record straight. She said that although she’s used to being treated unfairly by people who knock her on social media, she won’t let this one slide, calling the incident “disheartening.”

“This was something that was embarrassing for me and embarrassing for my family. At the end of the day, I’m a person, too. And I do get humiliated and embarrassed just like anyone else but I’m tough, my family’s tough, we can handle it,” she said. “I think that those that threw the water and were applauding and laughing wanted to get their 15 minutes of fame by making a video of me … You don’t have to like me, you don’t have to agree with my political opinions, but you don’t have the right to throw things at me.”

Lahren has since received a wave of support on Twitter from both fans and celebrities who typically rally against her like Kathy Griffin, who doesn’t think “it’s cool to resort to physical actions to make your point.”

“That is the silver lining in this whole thing,” Lahren said in response. “If Kathy Griffin of all people is sticking up for you and defending you—hey, I’ll take it.”

Which brings us to Donald Trump.

If Lahren was tickled by Griffin’s response, then we’re sure she’s feeling like the winner in the water feud all thanks to the president’s Twitter feed. His two cents? “Everybody is with Tomi Lahren, a truly outstanding and respected young woman!” he wrote, tagging the Fox & Friends account.

Trump has historically been late to respond to tragedies like Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico or any of the growing list of school shootings that continue, but when it comes to Lahren and Fox, he’s all-ears.
