Gabrielle Union’s Floor-Sweeping Gown and Overcoat Is a Lesson in Fall Layering

Jacket season is upon us.

It’s that time of year again, when the weather calls for an outfit warm enough to wear in the morning but still breathable for when the sun comes out. And Gabrielle Union just found the chicest solution with her latest fall jacket-and-dress combo.

On Wednesday night, Union was spotted hand-in-hand with her husband Dwyane Wade in the streets of New York City donning an effortlessly stylish outfit. The actress sported a gray floor-sweeping jersey gown with a billowy hem and strapless neckline, which was layered underneath a full-length coat in a slightly lighter shade. Keeping her accessories to a minimum, Gabrielle teamed the flowy gown and jacket combo with a white Prada handbag and black pointed-toe heels.

As for her glam, she let her radiant complexion take center stage, adding only a swipe of winged eyeliner and lip gloss, and styling her dark hair into a slicked-back bun.

For his part, Dwyane layered a charcoal gray jacket over a black T-shirt and paired it with coordinating trousers, which he accessorized with a silver chain necklace, a diamond stud earring, and a pair of white sneakers.

Weeks before jetting off to the Big Apple, the Wades stepped out as basketball's most fashionable family while celebrating Dwyane's induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. For the occasion, Gabrielle slipped into a custom black Atelier Versace strapless gown complete with a plunging neckline and a slight peplum waist, while the couple's oldest daughter Zaya sported a bead-embellished LBD with a sheer mock neck and long sleeves. As for the man of the hour, he chose a custom cherry red Atelier Versace double-breasted jacket and matching red tailored pants.
