The Genius $1.25 Dollar Tree Find That Revolutionized My Fridge
It instantly creates more storage space!

I'm the not-so-proud owner of a small, poorly-designed fridge. We inherited the appliance, and it doesn't hold much (or hold things very efficiently). When we first moved in, I had to shop two to three times a week because it couldn't hold an entire weekly grocery haul for my then family of three. Replacing it isn't an option because the space is too small to hold anything else. To remedy this, I bought a basement fridge. Now, we live with two fridges and an imperfect, ever-changing tracking system.
So, I was quite intrigued when I discovered these clip-on fridge baskets at Dollar Tree. They clip onto my existing fridge shelves, making use of space that usually goes to waste. For $1.25, it gives me enough extra storage to play far less fridge Tetris.

Dollar Tree Clip-On Fridge Baskets
Price: $1.25 per basket
Why I Love It: The baskets instantly create additional storage space in my tiny fridge. I use them to hold everything from ingredients like berries and eggs to my kids’ favorite snacks.
Why I Love Dollar Tree's Clip-On Fridge Basket
The baskets are made from clear plastic, so I can always see what's in each one. The usable space measures approximately 6 1/2 inches deep by 6 1/2 inches wide, with a 2 1/3-inch depth, perfect for storing smaller items without overwhelming the space. I like that they kind of float underneath the shelves to help me create designated zones.
Since they're made of plastic, here are some tips for keeping them in tip-top shape: Don't overload them with heavy items, and always handle them carefully when pulling them out. Cold plastic can crack, but in my experience, you have to be pretty rough with it for this to happen.
Lastly, if you have thick shelves, consider measuring them before you buy anything. If they're unable to clip or slide onto the fridge shelf itself, they won't be very useful!
Ways to Use Dollar Tree's Clip-On Fridge Baskets
I clip one under the central shelf for all our berries. It keeps them from getting squished and makes them easy to grab for quick snacks and meals. Another basket holds my kids' snacks, such as yogurt cups, string cheese, prepped fruit and vegetables, and hard-boiled eggs (not all at the same time). They would also be great for sandwich supplies like deli meat and cheese, freeing up the larger drawer for higher-priority items.
But we don't have to limit ourselves to food storage. They're great for keeping refrigerated medicine, vitamins, and supplements easily accessible. And if you can think of a better solution for chilling skincare and beauty (aside from a silly cosmetic fridge), I'd love to know it!
They can also be just as useful in other areas of my house. For example, they can be clipped in bathroom cabinet shelves or, depending on the design and size of your desk, hold small office supplies (or hidden snacks).
For anyone struggling with fridge organization or just looking to maximize their storage space, I can't recommend these clip-on baskets enough. They not only save me fridge space but also countless trips up and down the basement stairs. Looks like I'll have to get my workout elsewhere.
