Gigi Hadid And Blake Lively Just Gave Us A Lesson In Superhero Hair
From Zendaya whipping up a fashion storm to promote tennis blockbuster film Challengers, to Daisy Edgar Jones' impressive boho wardrobe for Twisters, press tours have become the ultimate fashion and beauty playground.
It was only natural then, that for the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine - a new superhero film adaptation inspired by the characters Deadpool and Wolverine in Marvel Comics - Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively would adopt a similar kind of 'method dressing', taking the sartorial opportunity to nod to the film's genre.
Stepping out onto the red carpet for the New York premiere last night, the duo were resplendent in superhero costumes, appearing in support of the star-studded cast which includes Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, as well as Hugh Jackman and Emma Corrin.

Their hairstyles adopted similar superhero status. Gigi Hadid took her new bob out for a spin, debuting a high-octane twist on her short summer 'do with a matching yellow Miu Miu co-ord. Trading in her beachy bob, the supermodel opted for an eccentric flick and exaggerated side curl – call it the red carpet iteration of the famed French girl bob.
Meanwhile, Blake Lively channelled Deadpool in a red Balmain catsuit and wore her extra-long lengths in a gravity-defying high ponytail. The sleek high pony was shinier than ever and was likely the work of extensions to create the extra volume and height.
As rumours swirl that Lively is set to become the new 'Lady Deadpool' in the Marvel series, her high ponytail could perhaps nod to a new character in the works, confirmation that she, too, will be taking on a superhero lead in due course.
Whether it's an act of support on the red carpet or a nod to an upcoming on-screen character, it's safe to say that 'method dressing' is set to take over far more than just the stars' sartorial choices, from hair, make-up to nails.
