Gigi Hadid's return to the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway is everything
Supermodel, designer, and all-around fashion icon Gigi Hadid is back for the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show – and to no one's surprise, she absolutely nailed it. Gigi was a regular on the brand's runway back in the day. For proof, just head to her Instagram where she shared a carousel of pics of some of her favourite VS show moments over the years ahead of this year's comeback runway.
But back to last night [Tuesday 15 October]. The Guest In Residence founder opened the catwalk for the first time since 2018, hitting the runway in a stunning ensemble. Her opening outfit consisted of a pale pink satin playsuit that featured a plunging neckline worn over tiny pink lace lingerie. VS's signature angel wings completed the look, with Gigi strutting her stuff in the oversized pink feathered creation following Blackpink's Lisa's performance.
They might not be the biggest, but pretty sure these are the most statement-making wings Gigi has ever worn for the brand.
Gigi gushed about returning to the runway for her fourth (!!!) VS Fashion Show in her Instagram caption. “After today’s rehearsal I can confirm that it will forever feel like a dream come true. Looking back on some of my favorite VS show moments over the years and I’m so excited to do it again tomorrow, with the most incredible, dedicated, creative VS Team & with so many women I love and some I grew up watching. It is an honor," she wrote alongside the photo carousel of her top VS mems.
This marks the lingerie brand's first fashion show since 2019, and Gigi got candid about her excitement around the event's coveted comeback during a September Q&A with the brand.
“It's everything iconic that we know and love from Victoria's Secret—I think that the world wants so many parts of the old Victoria's Secret Show back,” Gigi said. “But I think what’s so great about it happening now is that we’re asking for the things we love, and we’re also asking for a lot of new qualities that are important to us as a generation. And I think that we can have both. We can have the magic of the past and we can also do this again with our own set of expectations, and that’s what makes it beautiful.”
