Girl Scout Cookie Season Has Officially Begun — But These 2 Fan-Favorite Flavors Are Being Discontinued
It's time to order a box, or two, or 12.
It's the most wonderful time of the year for cookie fans.
On Tuesday, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) announced that the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie season is finally here. And while that's all-around excellent news, there is a little sad information we must share. GSUSA announced that it's retiring two beloved flavors at the end of this cookie season: the Girl Scout S’mores and Toast-Yay! flavors. But don't worry, you can still get a stash for this year and pop them in the freezer to savor them just a little bit longer.
"We routinely reevaluate our cookie lineup to make room for new innovations," a GSUSA spokesperson shared with Food & Wine. "Discontinuing Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S’mores may lead to something new and delicious. "

There are still plenty of other flavors carrying on, including Thin Mints, Samoas, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Tagalongs, and more. And buying your flavor does a whole lot more than satisfy your sweet tooth.
“Girl Scout Cookie season is about so much more than selling the iconic cookies people know and love,” GSUSA's chief revenue officer Wendy Lou said. “The funds girls earn throughout the season directly power girls’ journeys in leadership, entrepreneurship, and community building. The sweet success of each sale is a testament to how much girls can change the world when they put their minds to it.”
The GSUSA added that selling cookies helps participants gain valuable business skills, including "goal setting, money management, decision-making, people skills, and business ethics," building tomorrow's business leaders one chocolate chip at a time. Girls can also score a ton of badges when they complete their sales, including Cookie Business badges, Financial Literacy badges, Cookie Entrepreneur Family pins, and Entrepreneur badges. Best of all, the proceeds from cookie sales stay with local councils and troops, which fund experiences like camps, trips, and service projects.
The season runs now through April. However, local timing for cookie sales can vary. You can either buy boxes from a Girl Scout in your life or by supporting a local troop near you via girlscoutcookies.org and if you order on or after February 21, you can have the cookies shipped directly to your home asap.
