Whether your skincare routine includes as few as three steps or as many as 16, one of the most important—OK, arguably the most important—of them all is an effective sunscreen. To round out your daily beauty essentials, the K-Beauty experts at Glow Recipe have launched their first broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen, which uses a blend of chemical filters plus non-nano zinc oxide to reflect, absorb, and scatter damaging UV light.

The hybrid sunscreen is an expansion of the brand's culty Watermelon Glow collection, and uses ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, aloe, and of course, watermelon extract, to soothe and protect skin while evening its tone. In addition to being allergy-, dermatologist-, and ophthalmologist-tested for sensitive skin and eyes, the lightweight SPF features a sheer, non-greasy formula that blends invisibly, and is also water-resistant for up to 80 minutes. The SPF is also reef-safe, since it's made without chemicals like octinoxate and oxybenzone, which are reported to negatively impact marine life.

"The goal with our latest launch—over three years in the making—was to create something effective, pleasant, even sensorial that we could all look forward to every single day," Glow Recipe co-founder Christine Chang shares on Instagram. "Broad-spectrum SPF 50, in a lightweight, silky texture that wears like skincare versus typical suncare, and leaves skin feeling and looking refreshed and glowy afterwards." Co-founder Sarah Lee adds on her personal account that the brand created over 50 different sunscreen formulations before ultimately landing on this one.

By developing a staple suncare product for all skin tones and types that aims to improve your complexion the more it's worn, Glow Recipe may have cracked the code on a common pain point faced by beauty lovers everywhere. Brand devotees are already giving the new SPF top marks, with one satisfied customer writing, "Let me tell you, when it comes to sunscreen I can be extremely picky. But this is it people!! Feels so nice on the skin and has not irritated my eyes! It has a very soft fruity smell but dissipates after awhile. It also mingles well with makeup and my other skincare. I haven't seen any weird pilling so far. I will definitely keep using. Might be my new fave GR product!"
