The Grammys Officially Declares the Kendrick-Drake Beef, Over
Kendrick Lamar swept the 2025 Grammy Awards, including five wins for “Not Like Us.” Following his feud with Drake, the Compton rapper's hit diss track took home Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video. Next weekend, Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.
"First and foremost, all praise to the most high," Lamar told the Grammys audience during his acceptance speech for Record of the Year. "Rest in paradise to my auntie Sharon. She transitioned yesterday, so this is special right now. She's probably watching it from up there, so make sure you've got your smiles on." The rapper then shouted out Dr. Dre and Swizz Beatz before dedicating the award to Los Angeles. "This is my neck of the woods that's held me down since a young pup," he continued. "I was in the studio scrapping to write the best raps and records like these. I can't give enough thanks."
Lamar arrived fashionably late at the show, as he’s currently gearing up for his performance at the big game on Sunday. At the pre-show presentation, producer DJ Mustard accepted the awards in the rap category on Lamar’s behalf.
“Kendrick Lamar, one of the greatest artists of all time,” Mustard said during his acceptance speech. “He performed his ass off on that song, didn’t he?”

Lamar was technically up for seven nominations this year. He competed against himself for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. "Not Like Us" was nominated alongside his guest verse on "Like That" by Future and Metro Boomin'.
The rapper will take his talents to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana in just one week. R&B superstar SZA is set to join him, with even more special guests likely waiting in secret for the big night. In 2023, Lamar joined Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige for their Super Bowl performance in Los Angeles.
When Lamar released “Not Like Us” this past May, Drake mockingly replied, “Kendrick just opened his mouth, someone go hand him a Grammy right now.” Well, the Recording Academy’s bestowed him with just about every possible honour.
