Grandpa Who? Richard Gere Just Welcomed a Baby at the Ripe Old Age of 69
Richard Gere is on dad duty once again…after about 18 years.
The 69-year-old actor (yes) and his 35-year-old wife (again, yes), Alejandra Silva, just welcomed their first child together, a son, E! News reports.
This is both Gere and Silva’s second child—Gere has an 18-year-old son (Homer) with ex-wife Carey Lowell, and Silva has a 5-year-old son (Albert) from her previous marriage to financier Govind Friedland. The couple began dating in 2014 and quietly wed in a civil ceremony in April 2018, celebrating their nuptials with friends and family in New York that May.
They confirmed rumors of their pregnancy in September after receiving a blessing from the Dalai Lama (as one does).
It’s a good thing they’ve got two built-in babysitters already lined up. You know, since he’s coming out of parenting retirement.
