‘Grilled Cheese With Tomato Bisque’: The Kardashians’ Private Chef Dishes on the Famous Clan’s Favorite Comfort Food

The Kardashian clan is certainly not like us, but they do have some of the same cravings we all do.

Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé, along with Kris, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner, love to chow down on pasta and grilled cheese when they’re jonesing for some carbs, the New York Post’s Page Six reported on Wednesday. That’s according to Khristianne Uy, or Chef K, the family’s personal chef, who’s been whipping up meals for the Kardashian-Jenners for almost a decade.

Grilled cheese is a particular fave after the girls get home from a night of partying: “Sometimes they’re like, ‘Ah, chef, you’ve been here 21 hours, but can you whip up another late-night snack?’” Chef K told the Post. “Who doesn’t love a grilled cheese with tomato bisque, right? Like, to soak up all the liquor.”

Chef K initially began cooking for Kris about nine years ago, before moving on to her daughters. After six years of that, she now works as the family’s private-events caterer, serving big family meals at holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the various Kardashian birthday parties—“all the major Hallmark holidays,” as Chef K put it. Often, those dinners will revolve around a certain cuisine, like Mexican, Italian, or Asian food.

While the Kardashians aren’t too picky, Chef K is aware of the foods they refuse to eat. Kourtney’s a full-on vegan, while Khloé eats only chicken breast and turkey when it comes to protein. Kim, meanwhile, doesn’t mess with cilantro, and Kendall stays away from spicy peppers. Their many children, however, are a little more particular.

“The kids are the finicky ones,” Chef K said. “But with creativity, and as long as they’re part of the actual cooking, they’re willing to try it. They’re pretty good at trying things.”

Recently, Chef K has become more of a personality herself, with fans of the Kardashians following along via her Instagram feed, where she has more than 100,000 followers. That’s aligns with a growing interest in private cheffing that’s developed over the years: During the pandemic, more well-heeled families opted to hire an in-house chef. And during summer, social-media users can’t get enough of watching private chefs who follow their wealthy clients to the Hamptons.

While reality TV has given access to the Kardashians’ life over the years, Chef K is offering a new window into the clan.
