Grocery prices are top of mind for all Canadians these days.

A Longo’s store in Toronto is the latest to be called out online for their eye-popping pricing, this time for the cost of its pre-cooked Thanksgiving meats.

A recent thread posted to Reddit Toronto shows three photos of the packaged Longo’s branded meats, along with their prices: A roasted porchetta for $59.99, a cooked and seasoned festive oven roasted turkey breast roast, also for $59.99, and a festive oven roasted turkey for $119.99.

Redditors were shocked to see the price on a turkey from a Longo's grocery store in Toronto.

“LOL Longo’s - go home, you’re drunk,” the original poster commented.

Many in the thread were stunned at the price of the meats, calling it “insanity” and “criminal.”

“Wait whaaaat? I’ll just go out for dinner,” one wrote.

“Holy BLEEEP,” another wrote. “Are they serious!!!”

However, some defended the grocery store chain, praising their sales and quality.

“You gotta know how to shop,” one commenter wrote. “Longo’s regularly has amazing sales, but if you’re looking for dumb prices you’ll find them.”

Another commenter noted that the high price is likely because the meats are already prepared.

“They are fully cooked already hence why they are priced like deli meat,” the person wrote.

Grocery stores being called out on social media has become commonplace as inflation continues to burden much of the country.

Sobeys, which is owned by the same parent company as Longo’s, was blasted in April for selling a $54.99 cake.

A representative from Longo's told Yahoo Canada in an email that the company is aware of the online dialogue, but a spokesperson wasn't available for further comment.

Another recent thread of Reddit lamented the discrepancy in price for baby formula at Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart. An expert told Yahoo Canada to expect large price differences at stores like Shoppers that could be pricier due to their convenience.
