Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Have Reportedly Been in ‘Prenup Talks’ for Months

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding is approaching and they’re reportedly in “talks” to sign a prenup before they officially walk down the aisle and become husband and wife.

The couple, who announced their engagement via Instagram on October 27, want a prenuptial agreement, according to Us Weekly. One source claimed “they have been in prenup talks for a few months” and the “process has been extremely effortless.”

The insider also revealed there have been “no hiccups, or outrageous demands” because Stefani and Shelton are “two mature adults that love each other.”

However, it looks as if neither of them is willing to go into another marriage without a prenup despite having zero doubts about their relationship. (It’s just a necessary step to take when there are a lot of assets involved—especially for Hollywood couples.)

People reports the “Wind It Up” hitmaker did not have a prenup with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares three children, which meant he was “legally entitled to half of all money earned and assets accumulated” during their 13-year marriage.

Though Stefani and Rossdale came to an agreement in their divorce settlement, the source told Us Weekly that “she just can’t afford to not have it with Blake.”

Blake Shelton popped the question last month after reportedly asking the singer’s dad for permission. Sources told Us Weekly he got down on one knee to propose to Gwen Stefani with a custom-designed diamond ring in his home state of Oklahoma.

“Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life… I love you. I heard a YES!” he captioned his Instagram announcement.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Shelton decided the timing was finally right to propose after spending so much time together amid the global pandemic.

“Blake has been the one who wanted to take it slow in the beginning, but recently he decided it was time,” the insider shared. “During the pandemic, they’ve had lots of downtime together and he truly saw the importance of spending life with the person you love.”
