The 40-year-old actress wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to the world of Westeros as she stepped foot on the purple carpet in a Gucci gown that looked straight out of the hit HBO drama’s costume department.

Christie made headlines earlier this year when it was revealed she submitted herself to the Emmys as a potential candidate, ultimately earning a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama.

“I checked that it wasn’t an inappropriate thing to do, and I was told it wasn’t,” Christie said of her decision. “People submit themselves all the time. I truly never expected it to manifest in a nomination and I don’t think anybody else did either. But I just had to do it for me. And I had to do it as a testament to the character and what I feel she represents.”

While she may not have been top of mind for the “Game of Thrones” show-runners, Christie’s look has drawn mixed reactions from social media.

The biblical look has already spawned countless memes and tweets from fans including, “God is a woman, and her name is Gwendoline Christie.”

“Gwendoline Christie is the only woman alive that can pull that look off,” one fan of the actress wrote.
