Gwyneth Paltrow is a 'golden girl' in stunning new 50th birthday photo
Gwyneth Paltrow is baring it all for her birthday.
On Tuesday, the "Shakespeare in Love" actress marked her 50th birthday with a risqué photo for her more than 8 million Instagram followers.
The blonde bombshell posed in front of a white backdrop, leaning against a white column, wearing nothing but gold body paint. She paired the snap with a short caption letting her fans know it was her special day.
"50," she wrote in between two star emojis.
The Goop founder's daring photo was quickly met with birthday wishes and applause from fans for "defying the laws of aging."
"And here you are, defying the laws of aging once again," one Instagram user commented. "Happy birthday gorgeous! Half a century looks great on you. You look as stunning as ever."
"You make 50 the new 20," another fan wrote, while another added, "50 has never looked so good."
One person shared, "If this is 50 then I can’t wait! What a woman you are! Thank you for sharing so much of what you’ve learned with us. You make women feel good and have empowered so many."
"Thank you for normalizing that women 50+ can still be just as beautiful and sexy. You're an icon and such an inspiration to us all. Happy birthday to you, queen!" wrote another.
"You don't look old enough to be a golden girl just yet!" a fan quipped alongside a heart emoji.
Back in October 2021, the mom-of-two opened up to People about learning to love her age and to be less critical of her own image.
"Unfortunately, we're always looking at ourselves with a critical eye," she said. "I would love to get to a place where I don't do that anymore. I want to show up for myself in a more loving way, because it's all going south from here! There's nothing we can do about it."
The "Iron Man" star noted that the first noticeable signs of her body changing came after she welcomed her first child, Apple, now 18.
"I was just coming out of my 20s when you're in that sexy, young girl phase," the actress explained. "And then you're like, 'Well, how do I reconcile who I am now with that?' For me, it was really about giving myself time to be a mother, and letting my body dictate where it was going."
Paltrow added that a significant part of her journey to self-love has been accepting the changes her body makes and managing unrealistic beauty expectations.
"We have all these expectations," she pointed out. "Some women feel when they have kids that they don't feel sexual because their body isn't back yet. But it's like, 'Who said our bodies have to look a certain way?' It's hard as you age and change. But it's about bringing a wider spectrum of acceptance."
"I would never want to go back to my 20s, or even my 30s for that matter," she concluded. "I know myself, I like myself and I am so grateful for the wisdom that comes with age."
