Just weeks after H&M celebrated 20 years of its beloved and ultra-popular designer collaborations – that have included the likes of Stella McCartney, Marni, Simone Rocha and Versace – the high street powerhouse has unveiled its next headline partnership: a collaboration with Diesel’s creative director, Glenn Martens, set for autumn 2025.

The Belgian-born designer, celebrated for his avant-garde approach that blurs the line between streetwear and couture, is known for playing with dimension, texture, and proportion in striking ways. The news follows Martens’ surprising exit from Y/Project in September, where he spent eleven transformative years as creative director. He continues to lead at Diesel, where he has been reshaping the brand since 2020 as a key figure in Paris’ subversive, streetwear-infused design scene.

H&M launched its first designer collection with Karl Lagerfeld, then creative director of Chanel, back in 2004. The initiative has gone on to democratise fashion for many shoppers who were able to get their hands on designer clothes for the first time. Since then, the brand’s limited-edition releases have become a highly anticipated fixture on the fashion calendar, drawing eager crowds season after season. The announcement was made on-stage today at BoF VOICES 2024, the annual gathering by The Business of Fashion.

Over the past 20 years H&M has partnered with some of the industry’s biggest names and each collaboration has been unique, responding to the values and principles of the guest designers. At the end of October, the brand decided to relaunch a number of the most popular collections, sourced through partnerships with Sellpy and other global vintage retailers as part of H&M's Pre-Loved programme. With Martens onboard, H&M’s Autumn 2025 collection will no doubt continue this legacy, delivering a fresh take on the designer's avant-garde style to a broader audience than ever.
