For musical duo Chlöe and Halle Bailey, a lot has changed over the past year: The sisters welcomed a new addition to the family in the form of Halle's son Halo, who was born in December 2023 with ex-boyfriend DDG. But one thing that hasn't switched up? Their love of fitness.

"Working out, I do it for physical reasons," Chlöe tells Women's Health. "But also mentally, it helps me get any pent-up emotions out. It's essential for mindfulness."

The siblings, who spoke with Women's Health on behalf of their partnership with CORE Hydration, make sure to work out at least a few times a week, typically in the form of cardio or strength training. But they don't just focus on the physical—for the Bailey sisters, self-care involves exercise, nutrition, and mental health.

Here's what to know about Chlöe and Halle Bailey's workout routine.

Chlöe loves boxing and swimming.

Chlöe, 26, is passionate about "high-intensity workouts." She swims "whenever there's a body of water around" and boxes as often as she can. In particular, Chlöe enjoys learning boxing's combinations, which remind her of "dancing and choreography."

But the best part of her cardio routine, she says, are the mental benefits she receives. "It gets my mind off of work," she says. "I can distract myself."

Halle works out with her son.

Meanwhile, Halle says that her workout routine has gotten a little "splotchy" since welcoming Halo last year. But she still hits the gym three to four times per week, with Halo often joining her.

"My baby likes to play on the yoga mats when I [work out]. Or we'll go to the park," she says. "He loves watching people box. It's very entertaining."

Halle eats protein to fuel her strength training.

Since giving birth, Halle has been trying to build muscle via "slower weight training."

"I've never really done this before—I always did a lot of cardio or tried to lose [weight], but now I'm in this phase of my life where I'm embracing some of the meat that has stuck since I gave birth," she says. "I'm trying to keep some of it."

To do so, she's been eating protein for "every meal" and has been cooking more at home, which she says has been "really fun for me."

"I'm on this whole new protein kick—really just protein and veggies," she says. "I'm seeing good things from it, but it's still very new."

She's also been sure to drink lots of CORE Hydration water since becoming a new mom. "Every time I feed my baby, it's a reminder. He's a hungry boy. He eats every three hours, so I find that when he eats, I have to make sure I hydrate myself," she says. "When I take care of him, I have to take care of myself too."

Chlöe doesn't restrict herself.

For Chlöe, she's all about fueling her body with whatever "makes me happy."

"I try not to obsess over my weight and I try not to obsess over what I eat," she says. "I just make sure whatever I decide to eat, I portion it out." So if Chlöe's eating "a big dinner," she'll have a smaller breakfast, and vice-versa.

If she is looking to lose weight, Chlöe will drink more water or get lymphatic drainage massages to flush toxins from her body. "I just do whatever I feel for that day or in that moment," she says. I am a true believer in being happy and healthy at the same time."

They prioritize their mental health.

For both siblings, self-care includes focusing on their mental wellbeing, too. "Therapy is definitely important and essential," Chlöe says. "When you speak on overall health, you should also include mental health in that. I'm a huge advocate for therapy or talking to someone that you can trust that you're close to, so that you always have an outlet."

On tough days, Chlöe says that she likes to work out, visit her favorite places, and be around family where she feels "accepted and loved."

Halle, who has been open about her struggle with postpartum depression, agreed, adding that surrounding herself with loved ones reminds her that she's "meant to be here."

"I think we all go through phases where you feel just down sometimes, but as long as you have love around to uplift you... I rely a lot on my sister," she says. "She gets me through a lot, and vice-versa."
