‘Heart is bursting’: Lauren Sanchez announced son is headed to this Florida university
It’s going to be all about the U for Lauren Sanchez.
Her younger son Evan Whitesell is headed to the University of Miami, she announced on her Instagram Stories on Sunday.
“My heart is bursting,” wrote Jeff Bezos’ fiancée. “Beyond proud of you.”
As per the now expired post, reshared by an account with the handle @Xrdscollegedecisions, the 18 year old will be studying at Herbert Business School.
“The city of Miami is the seventh largest metro area in the United States. The city is a bustling hub for multinational trade, commerce, and culture at the crossroads of the Americas,” UM says on its website. “We take full advantage of this thriving ecosystem to provide the best experiential learning opportunities for future business leaders.”

Sanchez shares Evan with her ex husband, Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell. They also coparent daughter Ella, who turns 17 in January. The former “Extra” reporter has another son, Nikko Gonzalez, with NFL vet Tony Gonzalez. The aspiring model, 23, recently graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder, with a bachelors in political science and government. His blended family came together to celebrate the milestone in Miami Beach in June.
As for Evan, he’ll be in illustrious company, not to mention a few Secret Service agents. President elect Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump (Jr.’s kid) announced her verbal commitment to play golf at UM in 2026.
