Helen Mirren was the belle of the ball at Sunday night's 2022 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 76-year-old actress, who accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, looked ready for spring in a soft-pink long-sleeved gown with floral accents by Dolce & Gabbana , combined with a matching headband.

Mirren, a L'Oréal ambassador, looked fresh-faced for the event. The star's makeup artist, Jo Stretell, relied on L'Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Tinted Rosy Tone Day Face Cream ($29) to prepare the star's skin for a full face of L'Oréal favourites, including the Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation in Golden Beige ($17) for a natural, flawless complexion.

Mirren was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement honour by fellow Oscar-winner, Kate Winslet, who sang the actress's praises remotely from her home in England.

"She continues to fly through flag for women over the age of 45 and confirms what we hope one day might be recognized in this industry: That women just get better with age." Winslet said to thundering applause.

After taking the stage, Mirren, who has earned 13 SAG nominations and five wins, shared the simple secret to her success.

“Lifetime Achievement, that sounds so grand. I supposed I’m still alive so by that measure, I’m eligible,” Mirren joked. “But honestly, any achievement that I’ve succeeded in is the result of my mantra, ‘Be on time and don’t be an ass.'”

Mirren's acceptance speech and red carpet appearance was a stand-out moment for fans, who flocked to social media share their love for the "iconic" actress.

“She’s an ageless beauty,” one fan wrote.

“Whatever she says, whatever she does, she is a queen,” another said.

"The definition of a legend," someone echoed.

“She is just one-of-a-kind. What a great woman and superb actress," a fan agreed.

While accepting the prestigious honour, Mirren admitted she was humbled by receiving the award.

"Thank you, SAG, so much for this. I hate to say the word 'Sag' at my age. So it's S.A.G. For me," Mirren said. "I'm simultaneously and enormously proud, and driven with the understanding that I absolutely do not deserve this."

Mirren told the audience that she believed most actors struggled with "the conflict" of "insecurity versus ego" before thanking her peers.

"It's you, actors, that I want to thank. For your wit and your humour – all the giggles all the laughter – I've laughed all my life, honestly," she said. "Your perception, your emotional generosity, your great intelligence, and your incredible energy."
