Hilary Duff is dishing on her go-to beauty routine as a busy mom of two.

The 32-year-old actress is the latest star to be featured in Vogue’s Beauty Secrets video series, sharing the products and tricks she uses for her effortless, everyday makeup look.

“I’m a busy mom - I don’t have a ton of time to do my makeup,” Duff said.

With multiple projects in the works, the “Lizzie McGuire” star sticks to a skincare and beauty regimen that makes it look like she’s put in “some effort” as she juggles motherhood with business meetings.

Duff, who shares 7-year-old son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie and 17-month-old daughter Banks Violet with husband Matthew Koma, revealed she developed melasma during both of her pregnancies. The skin condition, also known as “pregnancy mask,” is often triggered by hormone changes and results in dark patches of skin on the face that can be difficult to treat.

The star turns to Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner from Ole Henriksen to treat the trouble pigmented area on her forehead. The daily toner contains high levels of glycolic and lactic acids (AHAs) and witch hazel water to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles in as little as seven days.

After applying toner, Duff turns to Glycelene - her “favourite vegan beauty products.” On days when California is dry, Duff uses the brand’s Beauty Ointment for hydration and damage repair before applying the Rejuvenation Crème to restore collagen and elasticity.

The “Come Clean” singer revealed she likes to use the Uplift Massaging Beauty Roller to help ensure product is fully distributed and help her skin look revitalized. She even uses the roller on her neck to help prevent creases.

“I never have a ton of time but it does really wake up your skin,” she said. “As I’ve gotten older, I notice in the morning that I’ll have my pillow case lines on my face and it’s such a bum out. This tool saves me.”

While her work in front of the camera requires her to wear heavy makeup, Duff says she prefers to create a more natural look.

“I’ve just recently started using Perricone M.D. I love it. I really feel like you want your skin to breathe and don’t want to have a heavy coating of foundation on,” she explains.

The Perricone M.D Foundation Serum Broad Spectrum SPF 20 offers a sheer, semi-matte finish with buildable coverage that helps improve uneven skintone and minimize the appearance of dark spots. The foundation is part of the brand’s No Makeup Skincare line, and contains neuropeptides to help fight wrinkles and bisabolol, to help brighten the appearance of skin.

The Hollywood A-lister gets her California sunkissed glow from a makeup kit mainstay she’s used for years, Soleil Tan de Chanel.

“This has been one of my favourites for probably ten years,” Duff said, using a beauty blender to apply the cream-gel bronzer to get the perfect amount of cheek contour. She even uses it on her eyelids as a base before applying her eyeshadow.

Duff likes to keep her eye makeup soft and smokey, using taupes and pinks to create an everyday look that adds impact without looking out of place on the school run.

To finish off her eye makeup look, Duff likes to provide nourishment to her lashes after ditching lash extensions.

“I had eyelash extensions for six months and my lashes are finally getting a little bit better,” she told Vogue. “This product I’m obsessed with is called Grande Lash. I never remember to do the serum, but this mascara has the serum in it. So it’s 2-in-1, and working for you through the day.”
