Hilary Duff shows off 'flaws' in empowering swimsuit photo (and tells body shamers 'kiss my a--')

Hilary Duff has a message for mothers of all ages: Stop obsessing over your “flaws.”

On Friday, the 29-year-old posted a photo to Instagram of her rocking a one piece Solid & Striped gingham swimsuit while on vacation with son Luca in Hawaii. While the “Younger” star has an incredibly toned body, the unedited photo clearly shows stretchmarks and cellulite on Duff’s legs. She shared the photo to send a body positive message to females that even celebrities have flaws — so don’t spend time hating your body.

“I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages. I’m enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months. Since websites and magazines love to share ‘celeb flaws’ – well I have them!”

The actress said her body has given her the greatest gift of her life: her five-year-old son, Luca.

“I’m turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go. Ladies, lets be proud of what we’ve got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed.”

“You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well. #kissmya–,” she concluded her poignant post, which received more than 300,000 likes in just an hour.

Duff’s fans praised her for her honest photo, calling her “perfect” and “beautiful.”

“Flaws? Where?! You have an amazing body!!!” Wrote katryna_nkd. “Girl you look amazing all natural,” said kenrey0_0.

“YES,” commented afamia_louay. “More of these amazing body positive vibes please! It’s a journey, but seeing this makes it easier.”

This isn’t the first time Duff has shared this kind of body positive message with moms. In 2015 she Instagrammed a sultry photo of herself posing in a black strapless bikini, to encourage moms that they can still be sexy.

“Hey #moms #westillgotit, #loveyourbod,” she captioned.

And in an interview with Today, Duff admitted that she didn’t care to look “absolutely perfect” in a bathing suit.

“I’m a normal girl. I’m strong. I’m fit. I feel good about myself after I’ve had a baby,” she said, admitting to good days and bad days, just like any mom.

“I go through ups and downs, being like, ‘Damn, I’m fit right now’ and ‘OK, I’m letting things slide a little,’ and I’m totally fine with that.”
