Hilary Duff recently found out that she is allergic to scallops.

On Sunday, the 35-year-old actress shared a makeup-free selfie to her Instagram story, showing her 24 million followers her swollen lips after eating the type of shellfish.

In the photo, the "How I Met Your Father" star posed in a grey hoodie and pulled her hair in a tousled ponytail. The "So Yesterday" singer included a caption explaining that she thought her lips might burst from the reaction.

Duff also shared that she's hopeful her scallop allergy doesn't mean she's allergic to other forms of shellfish.

"Scallop allergy confirmed. Really hoping it's not all shellfish," the former Disney Channel star penned. "I really thought my lip might explode."

In 2016, Duff revealed another allergic reaction she endured — this time involving bugs.

She took to Twitter with a photo of herself standing on the sidewalk in a pair of beige trousers, a brown belt, and a black tank top. The photo showed her back and arms covered in red, swollen mosquito bites.

"Mosquitos had a feast," the mother-of-three wrote.

Fans replied to the tweet with sympathetic and supportive comments. They also warned Duff that she is most likely allergic to mosquitos.

"Damn, you definitely had an allergic reaction," someone tweeted, while another added, "Ahhh! Terrifying! Happy healing."

"Omg, queen! I'm also allergic," a fan shared.

"You look allergic! Mine look like that when I get bit too and I'm allergic. It's so hard not to scratch," commented another.

One person wrote: "That looks so painful!" while someone else advised Duff to "use mosquito spray next time!"

"Damn, those some 'Avatar' sized mosquitoes," another pointed out.

"I feel your pain! The same thing happens to me!" added another.
