Clinton ad features Trump trashing women as girls look at themselves in the mirror

Hillary Clinton’s campaign released a particularly hard-hitting ad Friday morning that featured rival Donald Trump’s past comments about women’s appearances.

The television commercial transposed that harsh Trump commentary with young girls looking at themselves in the mirror.

Some of Trump’s quotes come from his longtime feud with Rosie O’Donnell and his occasionally raunchy interviews with shock-jock Howard Stern. But all viewers of the ad will see is Trump and the young women in front of the mirrors.

“I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers,” says Trump to open the spot. “She’s a slob,” he continues. “A person who’s flat-chested is very hard to be a 10,” he soon adds.

The Republican nominee’s critics have long sought to use his controversial and freewheeling past statements against him. Earlier this year, a pro-Clinton super-PAC released a video featuring many of the same quotes.

The ad is also reminiscent of an earlier Clinton spot that her campaign put into heavy rotation in the summer. That ad showed young children supposedly watching Trump make violent and provocative comments on television. “Our children are watching,” the spot warned viewers.

Meanwhile, Trump’s ads have mostly vanished from the airwaves, according to a Politico story published Thursday.
