Need a holiday? These are the cheapest destinations this year
Ok, so you may have gone a *little bit* over budget this summer (what? the spicy margaritas were calling our names), but that doesn’t mean the jetting off has to stop anytime soon. Sure, your bank account might not extend to holidaying in the Maldives or booking a trip to Australia, but thankfully there’s plenty of cheap destinations we can visit with our remaining annual leave before the end of the year.
Earlier this year The Post Office revealed their annual report of the cheapest holiday destinations for 2024. These locations are based on eight tourist staples; the cost of a three-course evening meal for two including a bottle of house wine, a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer, a Coca-Cola, a glass of wine, a large bottle of water, sun cream and insect repellent. They used data from tourist boards and tour operators to compare average prices from 40 destinations across the world to determine the cheapest overall holiday destination.
So whether you need a quick city break to brush away the autumn cobwebs, or are in it for a long haul trip, these are the cheapest holiday destinations for 2024.
