Home of the Week: This $11.5 Million Gilt-Trimmed Paris Apartment Is a Short Walk From the Eiffel Tower
This light-filled Parisian apartment is a delightful step back in time. Built in 1870, the opulently embellished residence is located in a boutique building in the City of Light’s 7th arrondissement (or district), often considered one of the most affluent and prestigious residential areas in Paris and, indeed, in all of France. Coldwell Banker Paris holds the $11.47 million (€10.5 million) listing.
The 7th arrondissement is home to some of Paris’s most iconic sites, including the Eiffel Tower, Champ de Mars gardens and the Musée Rodin, as well as important buildings such as the Palais Bourbon and the Hôtel des Invalides. Along with some of the city’s most tourist-thronged attractions, there are sedate pockets with quiet streets that provide a charming village-like feel. The neighborhood of Gros Caillou, one of the most sought-after areas to live in the 7th, is one such area, where the streets are lined with stately multi-million-dollar mansions and apartment houses that date back centuries.

The building is entered through a grand, marble-lined foyer with large windows that line a regal staircase leading to the apartments on the upper floors. The available apartment, on the second floor, spans almost 3,500 square feet with four bedrooms and one bathroom, along with a separate shower room. The home overlooks the tree-lined street and is flooded with natural light.
