Honey Bunches of Oats Just Released Its First New Permanent Flavor in 5 Years
"We needed this."
As kids, it was always a treat when our parents would put a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats down on the breakfast table. They liked the wholesome ingredients, and we liked that it tasted comforting with its natural sweetness and warming cinnamon spice. It didn’t taste bland or boring as we thought "healthy" food always did.
The breakfast cereal, owned by Post, is known for its iconic and beloved flavors, including Honey Roasted, Almond, Vanilla, and Maple & Pecans. However, it’s also been known to surprise us with seasonal delights, like the first-ever fall flavor, Salted Caramel, which came out in August for a limited time.
Now, the cereal we loved growing up (and craved during those brisk school mornings) has a new flavor for us starting this month. But unlike some of the other favorites that have been released recently, like the limited edition Frosted Bunches, this one won’t be going anywhere.
Honey Bunches of Oats Just Launched a New Chocolate Cereal
Chocolate lovers, get ready. Your morning meal (or late-night snack) is about to get a whole lot sweeter. Honey Bunches of Oats just released a brand-new cocoa-packed cereal. This launch is a big deal since Honey Bunches of Oats has not added a new permanent flavor to its lineup in five years.
This chocolate cereal may seem similar to the brand’s “Real Chocolate Clusters,” which came out in 2008. This difference now is instead of only having chocolate clusters, this upgraded version also includes real chocolate chips and cocoa-dusted corn flakes along with crunchy oat granola clusters to make for an even more chocolaty spoonful.
Fans seem to be ready to pour themselves a bowl, with many posting on social media about how “this actually might be fire” and that “we needed this” because, after all, “chocolate and oats go well together.”
Honey Bunches of Oats Launches Chocolate Cereal is available in both 12-ounce and 18-ounce boxes at major retailers nationwide, including Walmart, where it sells for less than $5 per 18-ounce box. Prices may vary depending on your location.
As adults, we still love chocolate as much as the next. But do we really need a bowl of chocolate goodness to jumpstart our mornings? Turns out, yes…Yes, we do. Because honestly, why should kids have all the fun?
