Sustainable activewear is just one of the few things I never knew I needed (and to be honest, something I never bothered to explore), but since putting Everlane's Perform Leggings to the test earlier this year, I haven't looked back. I love them so much that I now own four pairs — one in each colour, except for copper (but I will order those soon).

Setting the bar for what I look for in both loungewear and workout bottoms, these leggings are comprised of 58 per cent recycled nylon and premium performance fabric from a renowned Italian Mill that is made to provide just the right amount of compression and sweat-wicking properties. The Perform Leggings also feature a super high waist, a secret pocket and minimal seams for that second-skin-like feel.

Perfect for HIIT workouts, these leggings move with you to give you support and a comfortable tight fit only where you want it. I never have to worry about pulling them up or adjusting the waistband, as it never slips or bunches. The only initial issue I had with the Perform Leggings was that they were too long. But thankfully, they also come available in an ankle-length which is perfect for my petite, 4’11” frame — they hit just above my ankles while the regular length is designed with a 28” inseam.

As one of Everlane’s bestselling items, I’m excited to let you know that these leggings are now back in stock, retailing at $94. A pretty steep price for a retailer that doesn’t specialize in activewear, but believe me, they’re so worth the investment. And thousands of fans, including Hilary Duff, seem to agree so.

“The fit feels great, they’re very soft and comfortable. They provide some support in the belly but aren’t strangling. They are so thin I was sure that you’d be able to see through them, but even in black underwear I still couldn’t see the difference between my very pale skin and the underpants!” raves one reviewer. “They’re nice and high waisted, and they don’t seem to pick up cat hair like magnets like most of my leggings. Can’t recommend enough.”

Everlane’s Perform Leggings are available in sizes XXS to XXL. I usually wear a size 24 in jeans and opted for a size XXS for ultimate compression. But it wouldn’t hurt going up a size since they are known to fit snug.
