As a shopping editor, I spend countless hours sifting through hundreds of products, looking for interesting furniture trends and home essentials. Outside of my 9-5, my passion for interior design often results in even more research, albeit for my own Pinterest boards rather than Yahoo Canada shopping articles.
Due to the nature of my work — and my hobbies — I have a pretty good lay of the land regarding Canadian home brands. You have Bouclair, which is great for decor. There's Umbra, a must-shop for organizers and storage, and then there's my personal favourite: Article.
The based-in-Vancouver furniture brand has everything you need to turn your house into a home, including bedroom, living room, dining and outdoor sets. Because I (admittedly) spend a lot of time checking out the pieces on Article, I decided to mix work and play and share them with you, too. Below, I've rounded up some of my favourite Article pieces, including several that have made it to my aforementioned Pinterest boards. I am 50 shades obsessed with Article's Abisko sectional. It comes in several sizes and variations (left and right), to match your space. This sectional works as well in your living room as a luxury hotel lobby.
Article's Falco Side Table is the perfect blend of art and function. Its sculpted, cut-out base is constructed of solid wood and, thankfully, doesn't require any assembly. Shop it in two wood finishes: black and smoked oak.
If you're looking for that statement piece, you're in the right place—the Pilar stands four and a half feet tall and is "just perfect," according to one reviewer.
This open-concept storage bed features discreet cord cut-outs for your alarm clock, chargers and devices. Shop it in three wood stains: oak, smoked oak and white.
The Torme is a functional, beautiful addition to any space, especially if you have a lot of knick-knacks and books for display. Shop it in two finishes: smoked and white oak.

In all honesty, I rarely play checkers. However, that could (would!) change if this game-ready side table found its way into my home. The reversible tabletop offers checkers on one side, while the other provides a solid wood surface. It even has hidden storage for game pieces and accessories.
If you have grown-up money, you should have a grown-up dresser. This six-drawer dresser adds a little zhuzh to your bedroom and plenty of storage.
If I had a dollar for every time I've looked at Article's Timber sofa, I would have a solid down payment for it by now. The leather sofa is available in four colourways and three fabric options, if that's your thing.
