I’m a kitchenware collector, and among my most prized possessions are my assortment of new and vintage Italian moka pots and my Mason Cash collection. Never heard of Mason Cash? Well, you’ve definitely seen them — their legendary tan-colored Cane mixing bowls are featured on The Great British Bake Off. I discovered the iconic British pottery brand — it’s been in business since 1800 — on a London trip about 15 years ago and have since stocked my kitchen with Mason Cash bowls, bakeware, and cooking utensils.

Though Mason Cash’s embossed diamond-shaped print is its most classic bowl design, new prints are regularly added to the mix. There’s In the Forest, featuring woodland creatures like owls, bears, and foxes; In the Meadow, which has flourishes of flowers, and a Nautical collection that’s awash with turtles, crabs, and boats. But recently, I discovered a new Mason Cash pattern that’s exclusive to the beloved brand King Arthur Baking: In the Farmyard, a cheerful kitchenware collection covered with playful images of horses, chickens, cows, and pigs. I was so smitten with the line that I snapped up a set of mixing bowls and prep bowls immediately — especially since the entire range is on sale!

What Is the King Arthur Mason Cash in the Farmyard Collection?

Only available from King Arthur Baking, the In the Farmyard collection has all of the basics you need for whipping up a delicious meal or dessert: mixing bowls, prep bowls, and a batter bowl. The 2-quart earthenware batter bowl comes in a barn red color and is embossed with cows, horses, chickens, and pigs. Crafted from chip-resistant stoneware, the 6-ounce prep bowls are sold as a set in red, white, turquoise, and gold, and feature sheep and other barnyard animals. The larger earthenware mixing bowls can be purchased individually or as a set, which includes a red 5 1/2-quart cow bowl, a white 4-quart horse bowl, a gold 3-quart pig bowl, and a turquoise 2-quart chicken bowl. A white 3-quart pig bowl and red 4-quart horse bowl are also available.

While Mason Cash mixing bowls may seem a bit pricey, they are extremely durable and versatile. I’ve used my classic Cane bowl for everything from mixing batter for a homemade funfetti cake to kneading dough for a cinnamon roll-topped apple pie to prepping pastry cream for a zuppa inglese. The bowl’s width and depth makes it especially great for sifting flour without it spilling all over my countertop, the glazed interior prevents dough from sticking, and all those ridges and patterns on the bowl’s exterior make it easy to grip when mixing. I’m excited to add the In the Farmyard mixing bowl set and prep bowl set to my Mason Cash collection. Besides looking great in my kitchen, these bowls will get plenty of meal-prep mileage and be my new go-to serveware for salads, snacks, and so much more.

If you’re looking for bowls that are a real workhorse, you can’t go wrong with the In the Farmyard range. And with discounts this deep, you’d be a silly goose not to snag a set or two for yourself before they sell out.
