An Iconic ‘Star Wars’ Treat Is Coming to Stores Nationwide
You don't need to travel to a galaxy far, far away to get it.
Star Wars fans, rejoice: There’s no need to travel to Tatooine to get a hold of a glass of Blue Milk in time for May the 4th. Starting on April 17, the iconic beverage will be available for the first time in grocery stores across the country.
Star Wars TruMoo Blue Milk is a part of Lucasfilm’s ”Imperial March” — a celebration of all things Star Wars in the weeks leading up to May 4th. The date, which became an unofficial holiday for fans, is a pun on the signature catchphrase: "May the force be with you."
The consumer products campaign kicked off with an impressive light show cast upon the Empire State Building, featuring Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and full-on Light Saber battles. The other products due to be released in the collection range from apparel to limited-edition toys, but nothing is quite as captivating as the Blue Milk.

The TruMoo beverage is described as a vanilla-flavored milk tinted with blue food coloring. Blue Milk made its debut in the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope when Luke Skywalker was chatting with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru in their kitchen about a droid carrying an important message.
While the blue beverage only appears in a singular scene throughout the films, it’s become a cult classic among fans of the force. According to Star Wars lore, blue milk is produced by female Banthas and is available on planets located on The Outer Rim.
Although Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios already serves a version of the blue Bantha milk, this iteration will be very different from those poured within the Black Spire Outpost. The new TruMoo and Lucasfilm collaboration will be a dairy-based beverage made with 1% low-fat milk, as opposed to the Galaxy’s Edge version, which is a plant-based smoothie made from a blend of coconut and rice milks with a tropical fruity flavor.
While the pricing and list of retailers the milk will be stocked in hasn’t yet been released, you likely won’t have to travel to a galaxy far, far away to find it. As for how to enjoy it? You can, of course, serve the milk straight up and pair it with a Wookie Cookie on the side, but the list of Star Wars-inspired culinary creations you can make with the milk is endless: Blue Milk Punch, Boba Fett’s Milk Buns, Uncle Owen’s Overnight Oats, or even Blue Flan Solo — whatever you choose, may the force be with you.
