Inside a $40 Million Miami Beach Mansion Designed by Acclaimed Architect Zeb Jarosz
Three years ago, Stalin Bharti paid chicken restaurant magnate Christian de Berdouare and his former TV journalist wife Jennifer Valoppi nearly $30 million in an off-market deal for this glitzy estate directly overlooking Biscayne Bay on Miami Beach’s exclusive North Bay Road.
Fast-forward to today, and the Canadian businessman who founded merchant bank Forbes & Manhattan is returning the architectural residence to the market with a hefty $39.5 million ask. And though that’s a lot less than the $42.5 million Bharti originally wanted for the place at the start of the year, it’s curiously more than the reduced $38.9 million listing price that showed up in April.

So, what does the new owner get for that boosted price? For starters, a wealth of fancy amenities encompassing two pools—one in the backyard that’s flanked by a spa and a barbecue pavilion with a sunken dining table, and another holding court on an expansive rooftop terrace—as well as a glass-enclosed elevator, an atrium-like courtyard with vertical gardens, a movie theater, a fitness room, a spa and steam room, and an 800-bottle wine cellar. There’s also a two-bedroom guest house atop the three-car garage and a dock resting along more than 100 feet of waterfront footage.
Tucked away on a parcel spanning a half-acre, a few miles north of South Beach, the modern spread was built in 2016 and designed by noted local architect and general contractor Jeb Jarosz, who has crafted homes for the likes of Michael Jordan, Matt Damon, and Dan Marino. If that’s not enough refracted star power, the place was rented out to the cast of The Real Housewives of New York in 2019 for a reported $12,500 per night and is also rumored to have housed Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise.
Inside, the eight-bedroom, 10-bath spread contains almost 13,000 square feet of Jennifer Post-designed living space on three levels—all of it decked out with her signature stark-white interiors complemented by soaring ceilings, high-end stone and marble accents, designer lighting, and bold pops of color. Walls of glass open to lush grounds landscaped by Raymond Jungles.

Other highlights include a spacious living area sporting a two-way fireplace and a formal dining room, plus a gourmet kitchen featuring dual islands, custom backlit cabinetry, top-notch appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. A floating staircase heads upstairs, where the posh primary retreat comes complete with a private balcony, two walk-in closets, a dressing room, and a luxe bath equipped with a huge marble soaking tub.
“This is truly an exceptional offering,” says Bill Hernandez, who shares the listing with Bryan Sereny, both of the Bill and Brian Team at Douglas Elliman. “As an added bonus, because it was built right before Miami Beach code changes, the home boasts a large pool on the roof deck, perfect for entertaining. You cannot duplicate this feature anymore.”
