Ireland Baldwin shares PSA on TikTok about toxic ‘boy moms’
After sharing a sweet and sentimental Instagram post that model Ireland Baldwin shared last month about the importance of making “mundane memories” with your family, she has taken to her TikTok with some advice of a different nature for toxic “boy moms.”
While holding her brand new baby Holland who had Baldwin “nap trapped,” she made this PSA announcement on TikTok while holding her and doing the Mom Sway while sharing her thoughts about things that some toxic “boy moms” do that give her the icks and “grinds her gears.”
“My baby is napping on me as usual, and I felt compelled to make a TikTok about something that really grinds my gears,” Baldwin began. “This is a major PSA to any ‘boy moms’ out there who feel like it’s ok to make those videos where you’re like, ‘I’m not always gonna be my son’s only love…’” she said as she made a gagging sound.
She continued with calling out moms who say, “I know you won’t always be my boy one day you’ll love another woman more than me,” and she heaved. “You are the mother in law that I hope and pray and beg the universe that my daughter never has to encounter,” Baldwin continued.
“I hope your son meets a powerful and strong woman who encourages him to follow his dreams, and I hope they move across the country or out of the damn country far the f—- away from you. Sorry!” Baldwin concluded.
Boy and girl moms alike rallied in the comments of her video, sharing their battle stories with their own mother in laws, and also sharing how they agreed with her sentiments.
“I have THAT mother-in-law
we 3000 miles away,” one viewer said. Baldwin dryly responds, “Get rid of her.”
“I’ve had one of those mother in laws. We’re divorced,” says another woman. “That was my mother in law. I asked my ex when I was going to come first before her and his answer was when she’s dead.”
Gross. And yikes.
So boy moms around the world, please take this advice and remember you’re raising your boys to be good partners one day and that it’s totally OK to have a family that extends beyond you. While you may indeed be their “first love” that kind of love is hopefully completely different from the love they’ll have for their future spouse or partner. Deep breaths.
