Isabella Strahan Shares Emotional Brain Cancer Treatment Update
Isabella Strahan shared an exciting health update in her latest YouTube vlog.
The 19-year-old announced that she is cancer-free.
She was diagnosed with brain cancer in October 2023.
After eight months of treatment, Isabella Strahan revealed in her final health update vlog that she is officially cancer-free. The video, posted on July 19, followed her into her last MRI post-surgery that removed her port. (A port is an implanted device used to draw blood and administer medication during chemotherapy.)
While sitting in a car, she shared the results with her viewers. “It was a great, great scan,” she said, smiling. “Everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”
Earlier in the vlog, Isabella was pictured waking up the day after surgery. “My side hurts a lot,” she shared, which is where the port was removed. “It feels like I got stabbed.” Still, looking at the positives, as always, she was elated to find smooth skin in the places where her port once raised it. “It feels so weird, I love it,” she said.
As much as she is thrilled to be cancer-free, Isabella found leaving the hospital—a place where she’s spent the majority of her time these last eight months—to be bittersweet. “I miss my doctors already,” she said. “And everyone who’s helped me. Because they’re all so nice. I feel like I was just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t going to be going back for a while ’cause I love them so much.”
On Instagram, she shared a touching recap of her journey. As a refresher, the 19-year-old was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor, in October 2023 after experiencing headaches, dizziness, and vomiting blood. “After the wildest eight months, I finally got to ring the bell,” she captioned the carousel of images. “Grateful for my journey 🩶.”
Isabella’s dad, Good Morning America host Michael Strahan, also shared a moving post that honored her fight. “@isabellastrahan you are a SUPERWOMAN! Ringing that bell finishing chemo and on your way! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾” he wrote. “You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella ❤️❤️.”
Fans and followers joined in on the celebration, too. “Sooooo beautiful!!! Amazing warrior queen ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” one person commented. “SUPERWOMAN INDEED 🛎️ And surrounded by a super family. Stay strong Isabella‼️” another added. “Cheering Isabella on!!! Congratulations! She is definitely a superwoman- so brave and strong 😍,” someone else wrote.
