Whether you’ve realized it or not, throughout the year there’s a sale cycle that creates good and bad times to make certain purchases. Usually based around holidays or major shopping events, every month has different items that you should add to your shopping lists if you’re looking to save big.

Now that we’ve entered September, there’s a whole bunch of items that you’ll want to take note of if you’re looking to score the best deals, as well as a few items to avoid this month.

Mattresses and Linens

Around Labour Day and throughout the month of September is one of the few times throughout the year when mattresses go on sale. Whether it’s to outfit a new dorm room or just a refresh on your bedroom, now’s the best time to make your purchase.

If you’re planning a trip over the holidays, September is the time to start looking for cheap flights. The best deals are usually found about eight weeks before your departure, so start planning now to take advantage of the best prices.

With next year’s new models hitting car dealerships, now’s the best time to start shopping if you’re in the market for a new car. Dealers are looking to sell fast, so expect to find plenty of great deals on last year’s models.
