Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. salute the mothers in their lives

Sunday, May 13, is Mother’s Day, and the first family is sharing tributes to the moms in their lives. Whether they’re sharing photos of their own moms or celebrating the mothers of their children, the Trump family is celebrating what motherhood means to them.

Ivanka Trump shared an Instagram photo of her mother, Ivana Trump, heading down a ski slope. The photo appears to have been taken several decades ago, and Ivana appears to be effortlessly gliding down the slope in a silver ski suit straight from a music video and full hair and makeup. “Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mother and the best skier I know! Love you,” Ivanka captioned the photo, adding a heart emoji and the hashtag #MothersDay.

Donald Trump Jr. also shared a Mother’s Day post on Instagram, this one about his soon-to-be ex-wife, Vanessa Trump. He shared a few photos of himself, Vanessa Trump, and their children, writing in the caption, “Vanessa enjoy your day, you’ve certainly earned it dealing with those 5 munchkins and me.” He also called Vanessa “the best mom in the world.”

While Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump are estranged, it looks like they’re still dedicated to co-parenting their children. In an Instagram post on Friday, Donald Trump Jr. revealed that their daughter Kai just got a puppy for her birthday. It seems the parents are dedicated to their children’s happiness, as well as to the new dog, no matter what their own relationship status is.

First lady Melania Trump, meanwhile, simply shared a photo of a gorgeous flower bouquet, writing, “Happy Mother’s Day!” Perhaps the flowers are from her son, Barron Trump?

Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump haven’t shared any Mother’s Day-themed posts on their Instagram or Twitter accounts; to be fair, let’s note Tiffany Trump hasn’t posted on either site since April 10.

The president shared a video message about Mother’s Day on Twitter, calling it “one of the most important days of the year.” President Trump encouraged Americans to “thank all of the mothers and grandmothers in our lives.” He also spoke about his own mother, Mary MacLeod, calling her a “great person.”

“She was just incredible — warm, loving, really smart, could be tough if she had to be. But basically, she was a really nice person,” the president said of his mom in the video. “So much of what I’ve done and so much of what I’ve become is because of my mother. I miss her a lot.”

It looks like members of the first family are recognizing Mother’s Day in their own ways. The holiday is clearly an important one for the Trumps, and many of them took the time to recognize the mothers in their lives.
