I've taken 17 flights this year — 5 holy grail beauty products I never travel without
Including my holy grail toner for oily skin and the world's prettiest lip liner.
You know those people that practically live at the airport? In 2025, I have become one of them. Since January 1 this year, I have flown an ear-popping 17 flights. I kicked off the year with a hiking trip to Peru, spent a month on Vancouver Island and have travelled extensively for work, play and family.
As someone chronically living out of a carry-on suitcase, I have mastered the art of a travel beauty bag. I rarely buy travel-sized products and prefer to store skincare and haircare in these handy Cadence capsules that are fantastically leakproof and durable.
Ahead, I've listed the five products that, come rain, shine and turbulence, are always in my travel makeup bag. They include my holy grail toner for oily skin, the world's prettiest lip liner, and a mascara that mimics false eyelashes.
If there's one product on this list that has transformed my skin more than anything else, it is Glow Recipe's Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner.
I have oily skin and other than prescription retinol, I don't think a product has made a bigger — or better — impact than this toner. It's designed to hydrate, gently exfoliate and minimize the appearance of pores, and I promise you, it does all of those things and then some. Even when I think my skin is clean, I use this toner and am always shocked by the results. I love it, I swear by it, I recommend it.
This is my favourite lipliner in the entire world. It applies beautifully, it lasts for ages (even after multiple beverages and outfit changes) and is such a gorgeous colour. I would but it in every shade if I had the budget.
This volumizing mascara is worth its weight in gold. It's definitely not the most affordable mascara out there, but if you want look-at-me, fake lash-style lashes, Exagger-eyes is worth trying.
This bestselling skin tint is my makeup bag ride-or-die. It's a weightless formula that provides up to 16 hours of wear and 24 hours of hydration. It's gorgeously lightweight, is formulated with hyaluronic acid, and provides a subtle, healthy-looking glow. I love it; I use it every day and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
If you are in the market for your next favourite face sunscreen, the mattifying sunscreen from Ultra Violette is phenomenal. Not only does the Australian-made-and-tested sunscreen have broad-spectrum SPF 50, but it's mattifying, so it's great for oily skin. I am obsessed and recommend it to everyone.
