Tyler, the Creator Celebrates Louis Vuitton Collaboration With Pharrell Williams
Diane von Furstenberg, Lo Bosworth, Rupi Kaur and More, Celebrate the Official Launch of Breadwinner
Tyler, the Creator’s capsule collection is an extension of Pharrell Williams’ vision as the men’s creative director, a role to which he was appointed in February 2023 following the death of Virgil Abloh. The capsule collection is evocative of the union between Tyler, the Creator’s quintessential preppy sophistication and the elegance established by Williams.
The collection also features springtime hues, incorporating pastels and soft colors. A number of the pieces feature trans-seasonal silhouettes. Tyler, the Creator’s hands-on approach to the collection also extends to the design of a Craggy Monogram, which was hand-drawn by the Grammy-winning artist. The collection includes pieces ranging from bags to knitwear, jackets, cardigans, shorts and more.
Among the Louis Vuitton spring flowers in the designs are representations of daisies and Airedale terriers, which also happen to be recurring motifs the artist employs in his own visual language. Uneven shapes of the Craggy Monogram are featured throughout the collection and are echoed in lines and various details.
Tyler, the Creator was tapped for the capsule collection in February. “Tyler has been my close friend and collaborator for years. I admire his eye and we’ve always connected on music, fashion and jewelry. He doesn’t shy away from doing something interesting and different,” Pharrell Williams told WWD via email.
“Tyler already had a strong relationship with the maison when Virgil was here, and this spring collection intentionally builds on this and strengthens our LVers community of incredible minds and artists who understand our vision and appreciate the history and Virgil’s impact like Tyler does,” he said.
