James Corden just had a somewhat tense-seeming sit-down interview with the New York Times, and didn't appear to appreciate being asked about the whole being banned from Balthazar thing.

“I haven’t done anything wrong, on any level. So why would I ever cancel this?" he told the outlet, seemingly referencing the fact that he agreed to do an interview (which was scheduled before the Balthazar of it all). “I was there. I get it. I feel so Zen about the whole thing. Because I think it’s so silly. I just think it’s beneath all of us. It’s beneath you. It’s certainly beneath your publication.”

James added that he hasn't tuned into the internet's reaction to the banning (read all about it in the Insta right there ^), saying "I haven’t really read anything. It’s strange. It’s strange when you were there. I think I’m probably going to have to talk about it on Monday’s show. My feeling, often, is, never explain, never complain. But I’ll probably have to talk about it.”

He went on to note, “Should we not all be a little grown-up about this? I promise you, ask around this restaurant. They don’t know about this. Maybe 15 percent of people. I’ve been here, been walking around New York, not one person’s come up to me. We’re dealing in two worlds here.”

In case you're new to all of this and in a state of ???? here's the deal: earlier this week restaurateur Keith McNally announced that James had been banned from NYC's Balthazar for being an "abusive customer." He then unbanned James, saying "James Corden just called me and apologized profusely."

Guess that apology...doesn't exactly stand!
