Country singer Jana Kramer is raising eyebrows after admitting she refuses to hire an attractive nanny.
In a new episode of her podcast “Whine Down with Jana Kramer” the 35-year-old singer says she thinks any woman who hires a good-looking nanny to be “playing with fire.”
“I just don’t understand some of these girls that post pictures on Care.com because I’m like, ‘Don’t you know the female is hiring?'” Kramer said. “I’m laughing at some of these pictures!”
Kramer, a mom of two who has publicly discussed her husband Mike Caussin’s sex addiction, said she has been quick to dismiss potential child-care candidates based on their appearance.
“This one photo was like, ‘Hi, I’m 22 years old and I have perky boobs,'” the “I Got the Boy” singer added. “Like, don’t post the perky boob photo. You’re not gonna be hired. I’m not hiring you.”
The latest comments come less than a month after Kramer opened up about Caussin’s repeated infidelities and sex addiction relapse in 2018.
“Not that I don’t trust my husband… I just think it’s not smart,” Kramer said of hiring an attractive nanny. “I mean, you look at some of these nannies, and I’m like, ‘Well, you kinda asked for it, she’s kinda hot.’ You know what I mean? You’re in close quarters.”
Kramer and Caussin married in 2016 but separated just months after welcoming daughter Jolie Rae. The pair renewed their vows in 2017, and welcomed son Jace in 2018.
Despite being determined to work things out, Kramer isn’t taking any chances when it comes to hiring help.
“Not saying that Ben Affleck was wrong, but you look at the nanny and I’m like, ‘Well, she’s really cute.’ You’re playing with fire,” Kramer said. “I feel like some of these girls — maybe some of those nannies like Ben Affleck’s and the Gavin Rossdale’s nannies — they put off more of a sexier vibe.”
Kramer’s comments have not gone over well online.
🤦 this is a really backwards way of thinking. Blaming a woman for being "too hot?" Really? She doesn't trust her husband. Period. Didn't she also say she was done bashing him and bringing up their past? I'm about ready to unfollow her.— Pamela Sarley (@P_Sarley) April 17, 2019
“Hot or not if a man wants another female he will act on it,” one Twitter user wrote. “Sounds like she has the wrong man.”
As a professional nanny, this is the most cliche, backwards, not to mention discriminatory, way of thinking and hiring. “Celebrity” status doesn’t excuse this— hire what’s best for your kids, not for your husband.— k10 (@k10says) April 17, 2019
“A man should have the self control to not cheat, regardless of whether he’s in close proximity to an attractive woman,” another said. “And there are plenty of men who do! It’s like saying men are animals and can’t be trusted near women!”
Good luck to the new Kramer nanny!
