Janet Jackson's New Documentary Will Address Justin Timberlake Super Bowl Performance

JANET will premiere in 2022.

A new documentary on Janet Jackson is in the works.

A&E Networks announced Thursday that it is working with the Lifetime network on JANET, a two-part documentary on the singer, which will celebrate the 40th anniversary of her debut album.

The documentary promises to have "unprecedented access with no topic off limits," and is meant to be an "intimate, honest and unfiltered look at her untold story." According to A&E, the two-parter features Jackson "speaking like never before," and will address her Super Bowl performance with Justin Timberlake.

Jackson is also set to discuss the death of her brother Michael Jackson, as well as her journey to motherhood.

Last month, Timberlake finally apologized to Jackson as well as Britney Spears for his treatment of both women.

"I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed," he wrote at the time.

JANET, a four-hour documentary, will air over the course of two nights on A&E and Lifetime in early 2022.
